HELP, a little worried...

- AMD 2000+XP w/ approved coolermaster HS DP5-7h53f-a1

CPU Temp - 50C/122F idle

- 3 Panaflo L1A's enclosed in a Lian Li PC-65

Case/System Temp - 33C/93F

Additional Components that might be contributing heat:
Geforce 4 ti 4600
WD 100GB SE
Mushkin High Perf DDR

Temps taken off Epox Bios and Sandra 2002....

well, they're a tad high for my tastes but I wouldnt worry about it... If you keep the room the comp is in fairly hot those are pretty average temps...

thanks, temps used to be lower because I had a 7000RPM HSF before along with high speed sunon case fans....

tried to quiet my pc and obviously the temps show those results....

u need a diff hsf dude. the specs u shot at me deserve a better hsf. if u ain't gonna take care of that 2000+ then i'll have to confiscate it from u... for lack of proper cpu care :p

Here's mine for comparison.
Epox 8kha+
Athlon XP 1700+ (not overclocked)
Enlight 7237 300W with one 80mm generic intake fan and one 80mm Sunon medium-speed blowing out the back
Stock retail Athlon HSF (Though I spent several hours lapping it and used Arctic Silver 3)
CPU Idle: 36C
CPU Load: 46C
These temps are from MBM, but the bios reports nearly the same.
Without the Sunon, and using radio shack thermal paste instead of AS3, I was getting 44C at idle and 56C under load.

50C isn't THAT bad of a temperature, isn't the temp ceiling around 90C? Most of us pamper our cpus with an excess of 1+ pound heatsinks and 40+ cfm fans, JUST to get our temps under 40C. IMHO, it's not worth it, to have that loud whine of high speed fans (well, associated with AMD anyways). 50C shouldn't harm your cpu, so long as you're not hitting high 70s or 80s :p

They are a wee bit high for most peoples liking, but don't worry unless your system becomes very unstable.

thanks again for everyone's opinions...

FYI, I did change my HSF. I just slapped on the Swiftech MCXC370. (Has 3 clip and copper bottom)

Attached a 60mm Y.S. tech fan, here are those specs:
Air Flow 27 CFM
Power 2.16 W
Fan Speed 4200 RPM
Size 60x60x25 MM
Connector 3pin
Sound Level 36 db
Bearing Type Ball Bearing

I'm currently watching temps.... Lets see if this will help me

I have the exact same case (Lian Li PC65) and I'm considering replacing the stock Lian Li fans with the L1A Panaflows. How much did your temps jump up and is it realy quieter? I don't want to spend 40 bucks to heat up my comp.

BTW, does anyone know the specs on the Stock Lian Li fans?
