Are these sunglasses nice?

I lost my other pair of Oakley's (square wire's), first time I've lost a pair in 6 years. Oh well. The square wires were like 175.

Those are 305.

i like them but that's only my opinion
the real question is do you like them if you want to buy them

$305? Those are way overpriced. I picked up a pair of e-wire 2.0's a few years ago for around $100, and they are worth every penny. However a pair of "similar" shades at three times the price is a little steep.

yeah they're pretty similar

a new pair of ewire square's are ~155

polarized would bump it up to 205 or so

spring hinges option ~220

and the titanium badging on these oakley's add another 85

While we're on the subject of costs, are there any decently-priced, stylish sunglass-makers these days? 😕

That's what I'd like to know.

Oakley's aren't about style, they're about utility. I wear Maui Jims for style, and Oakley's for necessity. Both have fantastic lenses, and that's what sun glasses are all about. Lenses make a lot of the expense.

Yeah, but I don't want some drunk to take a swing at me & bust up my expensive shades...that'd just lead to a use of force complaint. 😉

Oakley lenses can survive a shotgun blast. They really do not break easily. Although the O-matter frames are FAR more durable than any of the metallics. I have literally dropped some half jackets 100 ft onto jagged rocks, spent 20 minutes climbing down to find them, and they were just fine. I destroyed the sh!t out of a leather jacket climbing down though, stupid me.

OK, granting that I'll have to pay out the ass for nice lenses, what would be a good retailer for these expensive name-brand sunglass makers?

I take it the Sunglass Hut is probably not the best place to buy shades. 😉

Maybe I should just wear a bunch of sunglasses instead of the kevlar. 😉

... a suit of armor made of sunglass lenses? Aside from the fact that it would cost 50x as much as a vest... it would have gaps between the lenses!

See those are the ignorant statements that characterize our nation. 😛 😀
