Are these memory errors normal?

I've got 1GB x 4 on my Vista64. The memory passed the following tests:

1. Memtest86+ v2.01 normal and bit fade tests.
2. Vista memory diagnostic test - Normal setting.
3. Windows memtest left on overnight with 4 instances running.
4. OCCT RAM and Prime95 v25.6 blend left overnight

However, here are the problems I found.

1. On Vista memory diagnostics test - extended setting with 2 passes, the test just hangs at 21%. I didn't leave it on overnight, but I did let it sit for a few hours, and it didn't move one percentage point beyond 21%. It's responsive, and when I hit Esc the computer reboots to the key press. I may try to leave it on overnight tonight, but I'm thinking the memory is still ok.

2. On Memtest86+, when I have the Memory Sizing setting on BIOS-All, I get errors. On Probe, the screen starts to go solid into different colors and just hang.

Based on these tests, is my memory ok? I wonder if the problems I ran into have nothing to do with the health of the memory, but more a software and BIOS issue.

What memory model? What speed and voltage are you running them at? What motherboard?

You shouldn't get errors with good RAM.

My recollection is that Vista's memory test in Extended Mode took a LONG time.

There's an online Forum at the Memtest 86 site. You might want to do some research there about the "BIOS-All" setting. I've never used it.

Memtest website FAQ says BIOS-ALL errors do not mean the memory is bad.

Also, I ran the Vista Memory Diagnostics tool overnight for the extended memory test and finally passed without errors.

Microsoft made a blunder by not giving any heads-up about how exponentially longer the extended memory test would take compared to the standard setting.
