I have an extended warranty for these fairly decent headphones I got a few months ago... The salesperson at circuit city assured me that I could even sit on the darn things and they'd accept it.. But these cans got seriously mangled in my closet after my printer fell on them.. Is it even worth my time going into the store or will they call security on me? Of course, I'm kidding.. But I don't want to be that asshat that the sales people talk about after hours...
Headphones

Update: So I headed into circuity city and found out the annoying news : I have to ship the headphones back to their service center and wait 14 more days for a gift card! I was told when purchasing the warranty that I could just bring the broken headphones in for a swap - the dude lied! What a pain, up to 21 days waiting for a freaking gift card...

headphones are like speakers, they will have a buy back on them. If they give you sh!t, just tell them you were adjusting them and got a lil carried away.

The least you could do is go to C.C. and make a warranty claim. In your situation, I'm very happy that you got the extended warranty. If C.C. doesn't budge on the warranty, remind the manager of the "sales talk" that the salesperson gave you regarding the extended warranty. I'm sure their system tracks the salesperson who sold you the goods. If C.C. doesn't fess up, get in the face of the salesperson and ask him/her and ask them why they lied to sell you the extended warranty.

Well, my main problem is that the cord is ripped off.. See, I threw these away after they got crushed and forgot about them for a while.. When I found them the cord was missing (I assume that a family member tugged it off)

It really doesnt matter. When CC buys them, they set up an agreement with the manufacturer to buy back any broken/defective ones since headphones arent worth fixing. I have sent back things that were in way worse shape and never had any problems.

[Edit]: I see where the cord was ripped off - right below the in-line volume control. Ouch. :(

Well...don't know about C.C. but if it was Compusa they wouldn't take em back unless you bought their warranty on em.

he did buy a warranty...even if he hadnt, within the first year the manufacturer will still take them back. The only way he will have trouble is if the manager is having a bad day.

I've bought one extended warranty in my life, and it was also from CC. They lied to me also, so now I NEVER buy them.
