Yep, they're real lightsabers, although I don't think they cut through adamantium, though. I mean, if they could do that, then I'd think they were fake.

Well, all I can say is that they better be real!

I want to start practising for the Lord of the Sith Finals.

What would make them more "real" is if you started out with just a small little eight inch long handle, hit a button and then BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM...... out comes the light.

These things have the "sabre" part out at all times whether the light is on or not. Too bad. :p Gotta dig the "Someone's gonna get an eye poked out" protector on the end. :D

For $219 and up I'd expect something more elaborate then an neon with a handle. Of course, I don't know how you'd do a "real" sabre with today's technologies. You can't control the length of a laser. Lasers go out infinitely or until the colide with something. I guess you could use that technology they're using to project images into thin air, but that would be DAMN expensive for something that's nothing more than a toy.

They are not real sabers obviously but the guy really does sell them. I read all about this guy's business a couple years back and how he makes a sh!tload on custom sabers and more. If you want to order one go for it, you can be assured it will come ;)

Actually, you might be able to using some crazy fourier analysis. You'd have to figure come up with the fourier series for a step function having a value of 1 for a distance of say, 3 feet, and then a value of 0 everywhere else. Figure out what amount of which frequencies you need, and then get about a hundred lasers in the little device to output that function.

Crazy, but maybe possible.

Ok, I don't mean for real as in the same type of light saber as in the movies, I am not so far gone as that. But I mean, I have done some reading about these things and they seem pretty durable. if they weren't so expensive, I would say it would make a good addition to a halloween costume...

i don't think they can withstand a hit against something or against anothr light saber. They look really nice though and detailed! but obviously for deipslay purposes
