Look closely at the modem's chipset. Then search for some reference drivers for it. If you can find them (Lucent), great. If not, try downloading a driver for a Zoltrix modem that uses the same chipset -Zoltrix have some Win2000 drivers.

I have the same modem. Mine has a Rockwell chipset. Per a confirming e-mail from a partially staffed tech support team at Maxtech...they have gone out of business. No new drivers will be issued. They are only going to be around for a few weeks cleaning out the last of their stuff. I suggest you try another cards drivers that have the same chipset. Some are Motorola, some are Rockwell. As far as I know, these are the only two chipsets used on this model modem.
as far as i know
the motorola software based SM56PCI dont have win2k drivers
however their USB version requiring a P2/233 to run (look this is a modem and its requirements are higher than some games... wtf) actually got win2k support
