Are there too many award shows?

I've always thought that there were far too many award shows - each with too many awards. There are award shows for movies, others for TV programs, yet others with foreign voters, TV guide voters, MTV voters, kid voters, black voters, etc. Its to the point that it seems like more awards are given out than there are people worthy of such awards.

Am I the only one sick of an awards show at least once a week with famous people patting themselves on the back for being famous?

i think they should have an award show where they give out awards for the best awards shows.
