Are there temp sensors on AIW Radeon 9800 Pro's?

When I installed ATI Tool it said that my card doesn't have one. I thought almost all cards do, especially something high end like this. Could it be defective?

Nope. As far as I know the only 9xxx card that has a temp sensor is the 9800xt. I have a 9800pro AIW as well and I can tell you for sure it does not have one.

So is there any way to tell the temp on this thing. I'd like to OC it but am not even going to attempt it if I can't see how hot its getting.

You can do it. Just depends on how much you want to. You could stick a thermal sensor between the Heatsink and GPU if you wanted. Thats more trouble then its worth to me though. Even though its not that big a deal to do. But thats pretty much your only option.

you should be able to overclock that sucker to at least xt speed
mine was able to do 420/390 with stock cooling

9600xt has one buit into the chip.

ya, built into the chip as well.
