GUYS, GUYS!
I was told by a guy who was pricing a system (pcwarehouse, Warwick, RI) to go with a p3 flipchip instead of the t-bird. His reason was incompatability. "Go look on amd's site at the compatibility issues" is what he told me. I looked and didn't find squat. Not only that, but it was necessary to look one item at a time-kind of like a search.
Man, you guys are toucht out there. Didn't mean to drum up any skeletons!
Only kidding, you've all already been a great help.
Lennon

p.s. Is the tbird better than the athlon? hehe

"Is the tbird better than the athlon?"

The TBird is the Socket A Athlon. It has 256K of on-die cache. From what I have seen the TBird will win in benchmarks, but in the reall world you can't tell the difference. The TBird is the better buy because you will be able to upgrade it down the road, while Slot A is a dead-end street.

zel,
p.s. Is the tbird better than the athlon? hehe

LMFAO 🙂

You instigator!

Seriously, you are intellegent enough to find and participate in this forum which means you are most likely competent enough to read around the current articles availible on both. I am sure you can draw your own conclusions.
