With my Shuttle SN45G, the way the cables are routed using rounded cables, it puts the 5.25" bay's cable right at the top of my fan shroud at the rear of the case. With a rounded IDE cable with the cable running parallel to the ide connector, this would give me a few inches of extra clearance and enough room for me to mount an 80MM exhaust fan at the back of the case in the top panel. I think this might help get better airflow and allow me to get better case temps.
