Are there programs that will prohibit a windows user from visiting shady sites?

i've built one comp for my uncle and he swears to me he doesn't visit pron sites and always clicks No when prompted to install or execute something but he must be full of crap...

anyhow he got fed up with how slow he made the athlon 1800xp system (it used to be fast and i've done 2 clean installs for him not counting initial install) and i helped him purchase a dell 8400 (3.0ghz intel cpu) system.

i'm tired of playing tech support and helping him remove spyware... are there programs out there (kinda like an internet nanny) that you guys recommend that will prohibit a user from doing anything that will attract spyware?

If you really suspect your uncle of visiting p0rn sites, look at his browser history and prove him right or wrong

i did visit his history... and he does visit these sites... he's also a heavy sports gambler and visits all these gambling sites that of course flood you with popups and stuff. i told him to stop that too but it's like telling a stupid dog to quit poopin in your bed. now i just want to find some software that will totally lock him down as much as possible from visiting these sites...

well, a hosts file stops some stuff, and I'm betting if you looked you could find more additions to the hosts file...an "antipornopack" if you will.

oh, and just tell him you won't do any more techsupport for him, if he has anymore problems, someone else will have to look at it for him.

he knows you won't press him too hard, but maybe the embarassment of someone else knowing what he's up to will stop him from doing it. or not, but at least he won't be bothering you.

Is it his computer? I'd just let him visit the sites and charge him $50 each time you have to clean his computer. "There's a sucker born every minute!" Or something to that effect.
