Are there official hashes for FC6 from fedora's site?

I'm going to try out Fedora Core 6 on an older laptop tonight with hopes that it'll run smoothly (256 megs of ram, 300 mhz proc). Ubuntu runs a little more sluggish than I'd like and I'd prefer to try other options before I go to DSL or a seriously light distro.

I'm downloading it now and I think I heard something like when the sites were synced there was a last minute bug fix so they were respinning them, but I'm not sure if this is true. Just want to make sure mine's official.

If you use BitTorrent you won't have to worry about any hashes as it'll take care of that for you.

Yeah, but there doesn't seem to be any torrents out right now (at least not on the official fedora tracker or linuxtracker.org). I would normally just run isos through azureus to validate them. I personally like that better than checking md5s or shas cause if a part is corrupt, it'll start redownloading it.

Did you try configuring Ubuntu with fluxbox or e16 as your wm?

I haven't tried fluxbox yet. I tried e16, but I didn't like the feel and getting e17 setup was being a pain. I installed the xubuntu-desktop package, but logging into xfce4 had the bare stuff setup so I didn't feel like configuring everything. It might've been the fact that I used jfs though, didn't try ext3. Might try ext3 another time.

I'll just give fc6 a try right now and just update anyway so it shouldn't matter.
