are there new towns being established (named) in the US?

i'm sure there's no more undiscovered parts in the US, but does every square inch of land belong to some district and have a zip code, or are there still parts that are unnamed?

what about the rest of the world? did we discover all the land yet, or are there some islands somewhere unclaimed?

The city i live in was planned and created in the 1960's.

Yes, there are new towns/zip codes being created. There is a lot of unincorporated land out there.

One example:
Mountain House, CA
