yeah.. why would they make a new mobo, when they are going to cease production of slot1 cpu's in a few months..

The 815E chipset will be used mostly, if not exclusively, in socketed mobos. Also, it is not clear how available Intel will make the 815 chipsets, since the chipset is a competitor to Intel's 820. The 820 requires Rambus, of course, which is what Intel is trying to switch over to on their better systems like the upcoming Willamette (Pentium 4). The 815 uses SDRAM.

BTW, I saw in another thread where a guy rec'd today an Abit SE6 Socket 370 815E P3 mobo from UPS.
