Many fax programs require the use of a modem.

Know any Fax programs that use cable/DSL?

That really wouldn't work, since you need to call a phone # to use a fax.

www.efax.com Try this site. The free offer just gives you some random fax number and the pay version lets you pick the area code. I've never used them, but I guess they work

I used E-fax for a year it works great but I did not have a scanner so anything I faxed had to be created on my comp I got tired of that so I spent the $69 and got a real fax.
