Are there drivers for the Voodoo3 3000 that support DirectX 8 ?

The latest drivers for the Voodoo3 3000 say nothing about what version of Direct X it supports.
Is there a site that tells what version of DirectX is supported by driver version 1.07 ?

I don't think it really matters much. V3 is pretty dated, the hardware probably does not support features new to DX8 anyway.

Both the latest V3 drivers (1.07) and the latest V4/V5 drivers (1.04) support DirectX 8.

What about the OpenGL situation? My Voodoo3 3000 gives a crappy looking display when I engage the 3DFX 3D options on my Icewind Dale game. I was told that 3DFX uses a weird version of OpenGL called MiniGL for its cards for OpenGL games. But the results of choosing to use 3D enhancements in my Icewind Dale game actually makes the picture look worse. Supposedly has to do with how MiniGL drives the brightness of the display differently.

Do the latest drivers fix this problem? My drivers are probably from before last summer.

The newer drivers include 3dfx tools that let you tweak all of the settings on the card. You should see lots of improvement in the quality after trial and error with these settings.

3dfx have had a full OpenGL ICD for a long time. Just make sure to remove all traces of MiniGL from your system and set all games to "Standard OpenGL" instead of "MiniGL". It'll work just fine.
