Are there custom Battlefield 2 maps and servers?

Counterstrike had those fun maps like Iceworld (i think thats what it was called), various sniping maps, Rats, etc, is there anything like this for BF2? I'm interested in finding an all-chopper map to help with the flying skills. I only see the regular 10 or so maps on the server list...
 
yes, there are modded maps, but you need to do something special to get into them. (Dunno how)

Have you updated to ptach 1.02? There are alot more servers and you can see the ones in red are usually custom maps
