Yup brokerage can be 30+ dollars. THis doesn't even include duties taxes etc. I would simply get things shipped fedex. They charge you only what canada customs would. 🙂

I ordered a K6-3+ a while back UPS ground, and got a $30 Canadian brokerage fee.

if it's possible, get them to use normal Canada Post..

Yup, in Canada you just have to assume the position. :disgust:

I have found it makes little difference to get stuff from the US if it's available locally.

In addition if you run into problems at least it's less expensive to harass the supplier. 😎

so if i have a choice of either shipping via UPS or FedEx, which one should i choose to minimize costs?

thanks again

I have no idea what kind of brokerage fees you guys are talking about, but I have bought over $1500 worth of stuff from the US at different times and from different stores and never got charged any brokerage fees. I did get charged the customs (pst and gst). It still came to way cheaper than buying it in Canada. I've had stuff delivered from Fed-EX and UPS. Just order from a pretty reputable online store and you'll only pay the tax because they declare everything proprely on the outside.
