Are there any windows based laptops with larger than 15 inch screens?

I know gateway has a laptop w/a 16 inch screen, but are there any others? I'm looking to buy a laptop within the next couple months but I'm so used to my 22 inch monitor, I think I'll need a large screen.

16 is the largest you'll find that runs windows. I don't know all the manufacturers and model numbers of 16" laptops, though.

It's really not that big of a problem IMO, the keyboards placement on the laptop forces you to sit closer to the screen...

As long as you get the SXGA+ ones, that do 1600x1200, the smaller screen will be just fine. My brother has one, and the screen's purdy.

The Gateway laptop is the 600 series laptop, and a nicely loaded one comes to $1999. It has a 15.7 inch screen. It has a native resolution of 1280 x 1024 (it's an SXGA screen), an ATI Radeon 9000 graphics card, 2.2ghz P4 mobile cpu, 512mb ddr ram, 40gb HD, 24x10x24x8x cdrw/dvd combo drive, and windows XP home edition.

I was checking out some 16.1" Sony laptops the other day at the Micro-Center. To sum it up in two works: Damn Fine! However, they were completely out of stock on most of the Sonys. Apparently, they were awaiting the newer models to start to show.

The salesman that I was talking to showed me some of the new Compaq laptops. The newer Compaqs look awfully like HP laptops. Granted, they just merged a few months back, but I wonder how long it will be before one name or the other (HP or Compaq) disappears?

Why would you even want a laptop with an LCD display larger than 15.0"

Aren't laptops supposed to be portable?

Although I love my Compaq Presario 1500T's SXGA resolution on it's beautiful 15.0" display sometimes I wish it were a light and portable 12.1" Sony or iBook.

I would gladly trade a couple of inches of portability for a bigger screen.

I'm starting to think that 13.3" is PERFECT ... Who makes 13.3" displays, IBM?

Hell I wouldn't.

The 12'1 Sony I am on right now is perfect:D

The 22' monitor you have will have a viewable that is less then 21' and probably neare to the 20' end.

Sony does a 16'1 version, mac has the powerbook at 17'. But the resolution isn't great though....

The Sony has a weak graphics cadd...
