I'm a huge music geek, I love every genre of music that exists: rock, soul, hiphop, bossa nova, jazz, country, metal, electronica, classical, etc.. As a result I'm constantly looking for new music, so if there's a website that exists with recommendation functionality that would be perfect for someone like me. Anyone know of a site like that?
 
There are 2 I believe, although I can't remember the name of one.
Pandora.com I believe is one though, it'll give you some related clips for artists you input.

There was another, Flash based I think, that had a kind of spiders web of linked artists.

That's a nice feature... but for music I think it would be more telling to do it on a song-by-song basis rather than an album-by-album basis.

A prototype of what the OP was looking for could presumably have you select a song from a list, rate how you like it, what keywords you would use to describe it, etc.

That's a really nice site too, oh well I guess my million dollar idea has been done.

don't give up. there were tons of search engines before google.
