Are there any space combat games to be released soon or in development?

I miss games such as privateer, wing commanders series, freespace .. etc, etc.

Are there any games coming out of this genre? I missing having to saddle up with a joystick and kick alien butt.

Anyone?

Freelancer, seems very similar to Colony Wars on Playstation 1 to me (I loved that game). I wouldn't take that release date to the bank though, if memory serves me correctly I started hearing about this game being "almost ready" around two years ago. So take it for what it's worth.

Thanks, but freelancer doesn't really count. Combat is going to be used with a mouse :|

I want squadrons, cap-ships, etc etc..

I want to line up the cross-hairs with my stick, and boom!

Space combat I'd suggest:

Echelon - came out last year. Still looks awesome but it's more of a futuristic plane sim (not in outer space).

Homeplanet - Should be released soon. Look's pretty good and offers realistic physics. Which can be a nightmare challenge for space navigation. Should be fun.

A disclaimer... I like simulators more than arcade type games. Different strokes for different folks.
