Are there any recent 2D games out?? Do they still make them?

Starcraft was the last 2D game I ever remembered that came out. Everything now is polygon based. I mean i know its the wave of the future, but are there any good 2D games out for PC??

AOE2 was 2D, but that came out in 99 (2 years after SC)
If you want to see innovative 2D game development, look at any of the numerous web based games, and at the games created for the mobile markets (e.g. Palm, Pocket PC, Game Boy). And actually, you will still see a ton of 2D games for consoles.

IWD2 was mostly 2D, thats the most recent 2D game for the PC that I can recall at the moment.

Isn't Rise of Nations 2D only? I know that Age of Mythology uses a 3D engine, but I thought I read somewhere that RON would be using the 2D engine only.
