Hello,

Ok, I have one of these on my XP1700+.

Now yes it is wwaaayyyy to noisy and i have been thinking about getting the Tyan MP motherboard and another XP1700+ and same heatsink as above. Only i want to change something on it. Instead of using the 7000RPM fans i want to get one of these adjustable brackets and use 2 120mm fans from 2 Enermax power supplys that burned out on me and use them on the heat sinks using those brackets. But it don't want to burn out my CPU's so i am just wondering if this would work or not.

thank you

correct me if i'm wrong but i always thought that the tyan dual boards only officially work with MP's, anything else it's a gamble whether or not it'll work...... but i would go as to say NO, that won't work, i don't think you'll cool them enough, not enough direct air, but then yet again, i could be wrong

From everything I've seen posted in the forum, the XP should work in a MP situation. I don't think anyone's posted any problems.

Those adjustable brackets are meant to be used with Zalman's flower heatsinks. I doubt a 120mm fan will stay in place for long, with all the vibrations that it causes. There may not even be enough room for the bracket and a 120mm. IMO, bad idea, just get a decent 80mm HSF that will fit the Tyan...
