Are there any PC gamepads with TRUE analog?

Yeah, so I'm wondering if there are any controllers that have true analog joysticks and buttons. I'm currently using a Nyko AirFlo PC gamepad, and it'd be nice if the general shape/layout of the controller emulated that (in other words, it'd be very nice if the controller emulated a PS2 controller).

I always assumed more of them use analog systems...that would be the most logical approach...how do you know they don't?

AFAIK, they all still use analog controls, just because it lets them make the parts smaller and cheaper. The drivers generally auto-calibrate.

The joysticks are analog. The buttons are all digital. I was wondering if there are any PC gamepads with analog buttons.

Also, I guess I was wondering if there were analog joysticks with... finer motion, if that's the word. I went into the calibration screen, and this joystick just seems kind of jerky. I don't know if I'm being clear here, but I can't think of a better way to describe what I'm talking about.

My friend got me an analogue gamepad from walmart a year or two ago. It looked almost exactly like a PS2 controller, and it had pressure sensative buttons, IIRC, which probably means they were analogue

That is not entirely true, but I don't think any small controllers have digital sticks. Digital sticks have been popular since MS' Sidewinder series.

It's probably that specific controller. Do you have any way to adjust the sensitivity?

Cerb: First off, what is it that you're saying isn't entirely true? I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. I went into the Control Panel options and didn't see anything that would allow me to mess with the sensitivity. I went to the website, but the only additional software they have is gamepad mapping controls.

The XBox360 controller, eh...? I've heard a lot of good about it; can't say that I've used it (obviously), and I'm sure the endless questioning about where my XBox360 would get tiring, but I think I could deal if it was worth it.

Does it have four shoulder buttons, though? I'm really specific about that, if nothing else.

Yes.

I'm waiting for them to make a dongle to let me use the wireless one with a PC. :D

Well... Two triggers and two buttons.

Do a search for 360 controller review and you'll find all sorts of glowing reviews.

Does the Xbox controller have analog buttons? If so, you can make it work with PC.

AFAIK, additional software is the only way to do it. Often, the control panel applet will be replaced when you use it (like mouse options if you install IntelliPoint).

No such things as analog buttons, just pressure sensitive. Which just means digital input at two levels.
