I was just wondering if there were any other boards out there sporting the dual x16 PCI-E like the A8N32 because Im getting tired of the headaches of trying to find an A8N32 for under 300.00. ZipZoomFly and Newegg are really the only online parts retailers I trust and Newegg is really starting to piss me off with their price gouging on this board and ZZF wants 300 for it. Even though Im dropping over 3 grand on this new system incuding the monitor, there is NO WAY I am paying 300 bucks for a mobo. No sir.

Three weeks ago the A8N32 was 199 on Newegg and now its magically 245. What a load of BS.

Ive never dealt with tiger direct but some people I have heard from say that they aren't the best to deal with. Plus their A8N32's are going for 300 and have a 21-30 day delay on shipping!

I already have on 7800GT in my current setup but when I get this board I plan to slam an Opteron 170 and another 7800GT in it.

Ive been slowly compiling parts for this new machine for a few weeks now and next week I plan to top it all off and finally build this bad boy.

Thanks.

Near as I can tell all the other so called releases are paper launches. ASUS is the only company to actually make one availble so far to the general public. We should see these others soon though I'm guessing. Maybe in January.

Did these full SLI x16 motherboards just come out? Perhaps that is why they are so expensive?

Are these boards ready yet, or are they still buggy?

I am planning on building a new system and was thinking of upgrading to a premium video card solution in the future while just sticking to a budget video card right now. Will buying one of these boards make you set for the future if you plan to upgrade to the highest end video card?

Yeah, they came out couple months ago. ASUS is the only company to actually have them availble though. Well, furure proofing something is tricky. Technology changes so fast. Many want the A8N32 not only for its 32x ability but the mobo is better/stable than its predecessor, the A8N SLI Premium. Right now the A8N32 performance wise on the PCIe is realized at high resolutions only. Otherwise the Premium mobo is just as good at resolutions less than 1600x1200. But nVidia is supposed to tweak their cards (guessing the next generation) to take more advantage of the 32x technology. So yes, its future proofing but the next generation mobo could possibly be even better. ASUS does have a habit of just building a new mobo version instead of fixing existing problems on current boards. So if you are buying now its a good choice but if you are thinking of waiting till later in the year there could be better then.

IMAO, I change from A8N-SLI Premium to A8N32-SLI Deluxe, I have the same stablility with the same chipset Nforce4. It cannot run stable in dual 400 mode, it auto decrease to 333 and still have corrupt data if you fix it to run only 400 mode of RAM. Besides, it don't have more space like precedor A8N-SLI premium if you use 2 of 7800 GTX, no more slot for sound card X-fi or TV Tuner.

Are you saying the A8N32 wont run two 7800GTX video cards and a sound card like the audigy2 or X-Fi? Because it does. People have set it up and posted about it here on these forums. I have even seen pics and their reviews posted by the various members here.

The first board to have this was the Thunder K8WE, my board, long long before this Asus board (but its socket 940)

There are boards with a x16 PCIe slot and a x16 PCIe slot with x4 PCIe lanes, which would be a good alternative.

People are running two GTX cards in SLI and a sound card along with that on the A8N32 without problems so I dont see how you can say its a no-no.
