I realize there are sites that allow you to plug in the letters you have and they give possible words, but I am looking for a way to plug in the current board and your letters and have a computer give the best move. Is there such a thing? It's a matter of national security, though I am not the one actually playing the game ;)

I made something similar, it didn't have the full english dictionary but close... in one of my cse classes a bit ago... I'm not sure if I have it around anymore. (It wasn't online, just a program, I'll see if I can find it.)

Actually, a word that long could cross 2 triple letter scores. If that happens, the multiplier is 9, not 3. And seeing the word is that long, you'll probably use all your letters and getting a 50 point bonus.

You'd have to find a dictionary with scrabble dictionary. Normal dictionaries don't have words in it like Aa. Nor does it have the spellings of letters like 'Z' spelled 'zee'.

This is a doable program, but its hard to tell how fast it would run. You'd have to figure out every possible move you can make then use the choice wit the highest point total.

It could probably run fast, but I'm not sure how fast.

I could write up the shell of such a program in about a week in Java. it honestly is not a hard problem to solve in software. It is more of a performance issue.

Oh dear. Resisting the temptation to use that site is going to be tough.
