Another worth consideration is the Epox ep-8kmm. I have its predecessor, ep-8khm, lacks integrated video and lan. Nice stable little board, no problems.

If you plan on gaming with the onboard video, then the nvidia is probably the better choice. I've seen some complaints about the 2D video quality, though, common with Nvidia chips. The Via-S3 onboard stuff is really pretty good in that respect....

I thought that you only need BIOS update for Thoroughbreds. I have Gigabyte 7ZMMH and MSI MS-6340M Ver5.0 which are both MicroATX (KM133A Non-DDR). Gigabyte has already come out with the new BIOS, but not MSI.

Only things that you want to make sure when you buy MicroATX board are the overclocking features which both of my boards do not have assuming you might be interested in them.

I am using an adaptor to change the multiplier with them.

I'm not sure that Tbred bios updates are required for XP compatible boards, but I'm sure that not all Athlon boards are capable of accepting XP's, bios updates won't do the job. It seems to me that the differences between xp's and tbreds aren't as great, but I could easily be wrong....

Buy a board that's advertised as compatible.....
