are there any good wireless keyboards?

I've always bought my keyboards wired, usually under 10 bucks and I've always been satisfied (usually Logitech). However, I need to get a decent wireless keyboard for a system that will be used to feed a big TV. So that means needing to be able to change what video is playing from the couch.

Any recommendations? Are bluetooth ones better? If your system doesn't have bluetooth, is there an adapter that comes with it to compensate for that?

If you don't need anything fancy, go for a generic Logitech wireless model. Bluetooth keyboards are generally more expensive than infrared ones, and the only real benefit they offer is somewhat better range if you are going around an object or otherwise facing away from the source.

Thanks for the input. The range is really important, as another (I think it is also a Logitech) wifi kb/mouse the range is really really bad, like forget about using it across a small room. The one I'm looking for will definitely need to be able to span a relatively small room without issue.

I have a Logitech K360 and I like it. The best feature is that it's laid out like a laptop keyboard with the numpad right next to the regular keys, so it's much narrower.

I have a Logitech DiNovio and totally love the thing. It's bluetooth and also has a small touchpad on it. I bought it years ago for my HTPC and it's still going strong. The only caveat to it is the price. I had picked it up for $180, but now it's down to about $150 at TigerDirect.

Logitech K750 and K800 are both great and both are rechargeable. The K750 is solar powered and the K800 has a mini usb charging cable.

I bought the Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800 for my HTPC and like it quite alot... particularly for something that only costs $24.

They keyboard is sleek and low-profile, perfect match for most new TVs.

(The key spacing is a little odd / smaller than normal though, halfway between a normal keyboard and a laptop keyboard. I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to write papers or anything.)

The range has been fine for me and I can use it across the room. I do have a direct line of sight to the transmitter though.

It's definitely nothing fancy, but it's very cheap, looks nice, and does the job.
