I got Grand Prix 4 at eb for $10... I haven't played it yet, but from what I hear its supposed to be good. I don't know why they were clearing them out... I don't think they are that old.

360 Modena of course :D

I'm getting ready to download RSDG's new Sports Car Racing now:

I find it funny how you totally skipped the F1 part of the game. :D

IMHO GP4 is a much better sim at immersing the player to make him feel like he's part of the GP weekend... and the wet races are just awesome... other than that F1 2002 is a much better polished game. I've been a GP series fanboy ever since... and i wish someone would combine the best aspects of F1 2K2 and GP4... :D

Hehe, I'm more interested in cars that I can associate with :D

Besides, I played the demo of F1 2002 when it first came out so I knew what to expect.

Geoff Crammond is considered a god in PC racing sim circles.

I can remember playing the original Grand Prix on a CGA display, off a 5.25" floppy disk (I think).

Good thing are are not me then! Otherwise you'd be driving a 2.6L '85 Plymouth Reliant, a Valiant, or 87 Hyundai Stellar. That game/Mod would suck!! :D

Well, I've ridden in 360 Modenas and 911 Carrera 2's as a passenger...but never the driver. Here's my chance :D

But man GTR 2002 is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN. I loaded up Donnington with a Viper GTS-R and couldn't tame the beast. It was all over the damn place. I would brake into a corner then accelerate out...but too much gas out of a corner and the tail would swing around like a mofo. Pull off from a stop and get on the gas too much...rear end swings around ;)

So I switched over the 550 on the same track. Much easier to tame and less likely to swing around under power. Still, if you put too much power down, it would pull a GTS-R move into the grass.

But my love is almost puuuuuuuuuuuuurfect: the 360 Modena. Man is that thing perfect;) I took it out on Laguna Seca. I could whip that thing around the corner, pull out full speed, full throttle and the car would just stick. I didn't spin out once in that car. It's a dream to pilot through the "corkscrew" as well on that circuit.

Man I love this game :D

OK, I took the 993's and 996's out for a spin. Can someone tell me why these things idle like big block Chevy/Ford V8's? :Q

You probably don't care but EA's F1 Challenge 99-02 just came out... basically the same thing just with seasons 99-02 and a slightly different handling physics and tire modelling. But like i said you probably don't care since you won't play with the F1 portion anyway. :D

Yeah, I don't give a crap. I STILL haven't played F1 2002 yet. I've been playing GTR 2002 and the 360 Challenge mod constantly. And now that I've downloaded the LeMans track, I'm in heaven. The Lemans track is EXTREMELY bumpy though on some of those long straights, and I can catch air at the top of the third long straight in the Modena:Q

HOLY SH!T!! Now THAT's what I'm talking about. 996's and 360 Modenas. Off to purchase F1 2002 RIGHT NOW and downloading the MOD!! :D

You'll LOVE it... very realistic driving. VERY hard to drive without the electronic aids. Awesome game... blows everything out of the water... even V8 Challenge and TOCA Race Car Driver and the almightly Gran Turismo 3 Aspec's driving dynamics are dull compared to GTRacing.

Just keep at it and learn to drive the racing line. I pretty much took other peoples car setups and used them... mebbe adding a tweak here or there but once you get used to it, you'll be lapping some pretty good times.

Gotta wait till the tires get up to temp. I tried to get them up to temp quicker by swerving as they do under caution... really didn't help that much. Driving the bigboy GT cars at max speed really does feel like balancing those cars on a knife edge.

heh... same here... I picked up GTR 2002 a long time ago. It's outlived many games in that time... Rallysport Challenge, CMR2, NFS:HP2, NFS5, etcetcetc. I love how if you get the cars driving just right, you'll be twitchy braking deep into a corner and get that car to rotate and ROAR outta the apex. :D:D:D

I usually a few races the day before I autoX just to get pumped. :)

BTW, what is this BPR mod you speak of?

http://bprgt.rsdg.net/

I never downloaded it. I have so much fun playing GTR and 360 Challenge :D

I play with BPR too... :D ...just because there's an F40... and in you really have to blip it or it'll turn your around under braking. :)

Cool, I'd just like to drive the McLaren F1 :p Most awesome car EVER built :D
