Are there any good non vehicle BF2 servers?

I guess what I'm asking is are there non nade/claymore spamfest Infantry only servers? As of now, on IO servers, the game is just a screwed up version of pacman where I dart along corridors avoiding the little round things all the time.

The only good non-vehicle servers are going to be the city maps like Karkand or Jalalabad.

I guess the best I can suggest is look for an IO server with friendly fire = on.

I've tried both. Urban servers are the worst. Because of the chokepoints, you'll just have a constant barrage of nades at the same areas. FF on or off, theres still nade spamming going on.

I was hoping to find a server that's like a more arcade version of America's Army 3. Instead, it looks just like COD4:MW. I'm not versed in the way of the nade spam, but how the hell do you even have that many grenades in the first place? I hope something is introduced in a patch so you can specify 1 claymore/sniper, 1 grenade/player, no explosives reloads and each jump takes 1/2 a stamina bar, prone can be modified like in OFP:2 where it takes a considerable amount of time to go prone.

At this point, it's just nade and claymore spamfests on every server with some prone spamming and bunnyhopping when they see I'm holding a gun instead of grenades. I've gone entire rounds without getting shot to death.

I've tried vehicle maps, but there's very little actual gunplay there either, just helis and jets and once in a while a tank or IFV rolling in.

I guess I was expecting something more epic out of 1.5 than just running around and dying from explosives whether they come from the air or other players or even hidden as mines, something where you would actually move with your squad around corners, and get in real firefights.

Looks like this game isn't for you. In my BF2 experience, after a few nade spam rounds, I leave and venture onto another favorite server or mine or go into vehicle servers. The game is so versed in many areas that you can easily disconnect and move on to something else. Sounds like you can't adapt or are skilled enough to move on to something else to enjoy the game. Btw, to answer your first rant, the way people get more nades and more claymores is............... have a support friend, duh! Best way to get your skill-ups on ammo on these types of server, just hold out your ammo bag and watch how everyone re-fills.

Look deeper for better servers.

... That's the point of this thread, I was asking if anyone had the ip address to a good BF2 server. I've already played at least a dozen inf only servers.

your definition of good is probably 10x different from my definition of good. Why don't you use the filter, search and find your own, play in it, and see if you like it, then add to favorites.
