Are there any good linear, story driven games right now?

FEAR 2 and Call of Juarez 1 and 2. The second CoJ is very short, and pretty linear.

Have you also thought about CoD:World at War?
Company of Heroes and Full Spectrum Warrior are also really good strategy games.

Borderlands is gonna be a sandbox roaming game like Fallout3.

Edit: Also, the two FEAR expansions, Perseus Mandate and Extraction Point are well worth playing if you liked FEAR.

should be real cheap as its a little old, the storyline is excellent but the gameplay pretty linear... sound like its right up your street.
