Are there any good free personal firewalls for Windows 2000?

ZoneAlarm. Or you could try Tiny firewall, I think the name has been changed but not to sure. I use ZoneAlarm myself and haven't had a single problem with it.

Sygate is a good firewall and has received excellent ratings. They have a Personal and Pro version, the Personal one being freeware. Definitely worth a look.

I use tiny personal firewall, its 30 trial now, but if you can find an older version, its freeware.

Ok, do you people *REALLY* believe zonealarm is a good firewall.....I have NEVER seen it do something I want, in fact, i dont even consider it a firewall....

Kerio does look alot like the old Tiny software. That was a good firewall if you knew what you were doing. ZoneAlarm I used to like back in the 2.x versions and would recommend it, but it's kinda gone downhill lately. It's been very "dumbed down" and I've also seen it cause problems on peoples systems.

I'm not sure what happened between the two but both Kerio and Tiny offer a firewall product. They look very different also.

I'm not sure if the newer Kerio products are that good. I don't like how it takes up more and more memory and offers less and less options.

Kerio was established by the original team members that designed the old Tiny firewall. Kerio is still related to Tiny as it's an affiliated company of Tiny (I think Tiny has certain % of financial investments in Kerio).
