Are there any freeware DVD burning programs to back up files and folders, etc.

I used to use Nero, but Nero + ICH5-R + SATA RAID = Reboot:

So are there any good DVD burning utils? I use CD BurnerXP now to burn CD's and it does pretty good (at least until Ahead puts out a fix).

No real help but I find it extremely amusing, everyone seems to interpret the ATA spec a little differently. It seems that either Nero or whever makes the IDE controller on your motherboard made a big boo-boo this time.

I only read part of the thread there, have you tried burning in PIO mode? My DVD-RW (Pioneer DVR-104) won't burn with DMA enabled.
