a drink must contain water otherwise you're not drinking but eating or taking substances.

Um, anything in a liquid state is "drinkable". Liquid Mercury, which exists at room temperature, for example. Any sort of pure oil or whatever as well.

Aqueous solutions are another matter - by definition they are dissolved in H20.

This is probably as close as you'll get.

Olive oil is the most drinkable 100% free of water substance mentioned so far.

Everclear, or any other distilled product is going to contain water, period.

Maple syrup, milkshakes, MILK... did you all fail like 4th grade Science class?

the title of the thread should be:

are there any "SAFE" drinks that don't contain water?

btw, milk is water based, but with complex ingredients, making it more unique, but not completely without water.

I had some 100% EtOH for a while. It smells like candy. Never drank it though. Oh, and we had pure deionized water too. Apparently that tastes like nothing. Coulda made some kickass vodka. Didn't though.

OP: You can get close enough if all you want is a non water-based drink, but none of them are very good.

Wonder if 100% ethanol would taste any different from say everclear or similar products which are about 95%. Would it still be safe, assuming you drank a relatively small amount?
