im sure there are alot of active chess players. i am not in the fide, because i'd get killed. my rating is only an average 1700. my experience lacks in opening and middlegame knowledge and it is freaking hard to find anyone that knows anything and chess books are deathly expensive.

anyone in houston play with a rating ~1700+?
