are there any benefits between a augidy gamer and platium if my only purpose is games and dvd?

currently i have a x-gamer(non 5.1 version) and the fps2000 speakers.

if I upgrade to the audigy, I should be able to use the spdif under windvd because all audigy cards have a built in dolby decoder right? my primary use is just some basic games and watching dvds, is there any reason to get the platium augidy over the gamer?

also would I need to upgrade my speakers as well to get spdif to work? if I do need to upgrade my speakers, is the creative inspire 5.1 5700 a good choice or is there something much better for a lower price?

The only difference between the Audigy X-Gamer and Platinum is the software bundle and the fact that the platinum has the Audigy drive.

I have them. They are allright, but they don't have enough power if you're into games. They also get a little distorted at high volume. The onboard DTS and 5.1 decoding are a really nice feature though. If you're into power like me, and don't mind getting 4.1, then I would highly suggest the Logitech z560s. They are about the same price as the Yamahas too.
