I currently have an aging SCSI setup in my main machine. I have (2) 4GB drives and (1) 9GB drive. I would like to get some safety, and I have been thinking about some options. One of them is to get a cheap 20GB IDE drive, and using it exclusively for backups. Then I had another thought. What about a RAID 1 w/(2) 40GB drives. I would get some safety, and more space, and probably some more performance. Especially if I could get the drives cheap enough, then I could go Raid 0+1. Anyway, I was wondering if there are any cards I should avoid, if I go for a raid solution?
