Are there also Audigy and KT133A problems?

Does the Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum have the same problems with the KT133A chipset as the Live! card does? I've never been able get my Live! card to work properly on my KT7A mobo, I always get static after it comes out of standby, so would like to change it. I'm thinking of getting a Seismic Edge (just looking for a cheap card), but am curious about the Audigy.

i dont think the audigy has any problems

ive only read about sb live variants, not audigy

have you tried different pci slots with live?
the pci latency to 0 from 32, or vice versa?

I believe that, in general, the Audigy was known to suffer from the same problems with the VIA 686B Southbridge problem that the older Live! and Live! 5.1 cards had.

I used to have lots of problem when using win98SE and sblive:
- when cd is in the cdrom, win9x hang on boot
- crash & restart when watching vcd & DVD
- static sound
- fail burning cd

but after i upgraded to win2K (also tried XP)
all the problem went away after i installed latest via 4 in 1 driver and latest sblive driver.
not even sound skipping, static, data corruption, nothing....

system: Asus A7V133 (KT133A), Athlon XP 1466 Mhz, 1.5 GHZ SDRAM, SBLive value, DX 8.1b

btw, to remove the static sound i set the DRAM voltage to 3.3 instead of the default 3.56V

My friend has a KT133 board (KT7) and is thinking about an Audigy using WinXP...survey says? Are there or aren't there problems? 🙂

Thanks.
