Are there agencies who will research and write a business proposal for a fee?

I have a couple of endeavors I've been wanting to get started on but I don't have the patience to spend days on researching and writing out a long proposal. I've heard that there might be certain agencies or companies who do this kind of legwork for a fee. Does anyone know what the name might be for this kind of service?

Also does anyone know of any forums that focus on small businesses, entrepenuers (sp?), etc..?

Why wouldn't you want to do the proposal yourself? Having an idea doesn't mean you'll have a good business, you have to figure for all the financial and market junk too, researching it yourself will give you a better idea of the chances of being successful. Unless you already have that figured out, in that case I'll be your biz partner, I can make kickass waffles 😛

Someone will do all the work so you can get rich for free?

Man, I want a piece of that!

seriously, the only thing I can think of is for you to contact a business school to see if they will assign the project to some students (as it relates to their studies...)

Any good lawyer will be willing to do the work. But mind you, they'd charge $100 an hour easilly. Whenever I'm in a business deal, they generally give the writing work to the peons and then send it out to the lawyers to polish it up.

I feel your pain when it comes to writing new biz proposals. However, there's nobody who can really do it better than yourself. After all, who knows your own internal costs and business better than yourself. You might be able to hire somebody who can write a great proposal using all sorts of fluffy language. But they're not going to know jack about what services you can actually deliver on unless they thoroughly interview you (so you'd still be burning time on it anyway and have to doublecheck everything they said.) I sometimes get drafted into the new biz pitches when one comes along at our company. It's VERY frustrating since they want us to be billing our time to existing clients, but new biz is obviously non-billable time that MIGHT not lead to anything. Still, if you do enough research and craft your proposal well it'll eventually get you some clients. Plus, the more proposals you write the more you can reuse portions (or sometimes the entire copy/presentation segments) of a proposal.

Get in contact with your local Small Business Association. I don't think they will write your whole business proposal for you, but they will help.

Lemme get this straight. You have a couple of endeavors but can't be bothered to waste the time to think them out and forcast with a plan? Why do you think banks want a business plan? It's all about you and you will have to defend your proposal. How can you do this is someone does it for you? Best of luck🙂

Its not that I don't want to be bothered I just don't know how to go about getting certain types of information. For example one of my ideas is basically opening a hot dog stand/sandwich shop in a developing suburb. I have no idea about how to get numbers for a business like this, so I was thinking if I had some assistance with the research it could save me some time and I still could learn what I need to know to find out if its a viable business option.

Well thats different then. Contact your local chamber of commerce, small business association, and the local retired executives association if there's one in your area. They all have general info on building your proposal, and i'm sure the chamber of commerce has some good information as far as statistics of that area go.
