Are their options other than Ghost

In fact most Hard drive manufactures provide utilities for imaging over your existing drive to a new drive and they are free.

If you bought an OEM HD, you can still try the manufacturer's website. The good news is that the free stuff works great!

I did just what you wish to do a few days ago for my wife's machine -- installing a new, larger, harddrive. For the job I used Acronis Migrate Easy which they have available for a 15 day trial download at their site. I was done in one day so the trial period was fine for what I needed. Another Acronis product that is competitive with, but much more reliable, than Norton Ghost is Drive Image which I always use to make images of new build systems once the essential stuff has been installed. That way I can go back to that pristine state any time I need to. That has saved my bacon several times.
