Hi,

I have just registered MS Windows XP., and after that.. it takes like 2 minutes on the blue welcome page to load.

Before that, i won't see the welcome page longer than 3 seconds(seriously).
Then I will see the desktop.. Now i need to wait for at least 2 minutes only for the welcome page to disappear...

so Are there ways to check what Windows is doing behind the blue welcome page?

Two things: you can spam F8 during startup and then when the boot menu comes up, choose "Boot with logging." The log may tell you something. Also, go into device manager and see if any of the devices have a yellow exclamation next to them. Usually long boots are caused by a malfunctioning device or driver.

Ned, you are so right... when i press the escape key, ya, it will straightly bring me to the desktop...
then what did the escape key cancelled? I have also tried to do the boot log, however, i can't understand what it is saying...

1) Look in your Event Viewer logs for clues (right-click My Computer > Manage and check the different categories)

2) Do you have a current-generation (meaning, 2006 model) antivirus software, is it up-to-date on its definitions, is it running, and have you done a complete scan with it?

3) Maybe post a HijackThis log and something will jump out at someone. HJT download link.

Also, have you installed your motherboard chipset drivers and other drivers?
