Pabster speaks because he want to educate the public on a better alternative.we dont need to be slaves to via any longer.

Those aren't problems with SiS 735. Separate fact from fiction.

Pabster, it does NOT matter. A chipset is NOTHING if it is not in a motherboard. Just as you like to say that all VIA chipsets suck, you must realize that NOT all VIA based motherboard have problems. It all comes down to the motherboard manufacturer and how they implement such things as BIOS, motherboard layout, traces to northbridge/southbridge, memory slot placement, etc.

Remember, not all KT133A motherboards had problems with the SB Live!

So I will repeat again, a chipset may be "technically" perfect, but without a good motherboard manufacturer to take advantage of that chipset, it doesn't mean jack squat. When ECS/Amptron/PC Chips is the one basically REPRESENTING the SiS735 chipset as a whole, the chipset and the motherboard are basically one in the same (Leadtek and Chaintech are small potatoes in the motherboard market). Sort of how Iwill's XP133 represent the Ali Magik1 as a whole (to a lesser degree, there is the A7A266, but it isn't the main focus of Asus in their performance Athlon lineup).

Epox-8kha+ So far no stability issues, this is with WinXP/FAT32.
Only reboot is the one I needed to do to get new programs working.

Slaves to VIA? Who is a slave to VIA? I CHOOSE to use VIA, VIA doesn't choose to use me.

Educate the Public? I've never seen anything educational from either of your posts, just the fact that you hate VIA with a passion, therefore CHOOSING another solution. So aren't you a slave to SiS? Cause I still have a choice. 😉
