Are the Senn PC150's my best choice for ~ $60?

Hey guys,

Are the Sennheiser PC150's pretty good? I'm looking for a nice pair of headphones for LAN gaming but i'd like to stay "relatively" close to the quality of my Klipsch system so I don't lose any of the effect. I really can't spend more than $60. Right now I have a $15 pair of Phillips headphones they are okay for beaters but I want some nice ones. I'm not really sure why I need the microphone since I have a desktop mike when I use my 5.1 speakers, I guess if there is another pair that is better that doesn't have the Mic I could do those too.

If there is a pair that is WAYYY better than the PC150's and not much more expensive say another $40 (i'd just save up more) then i'd wait

Thanks for the input,

Rhin0

The sound quality in the PC150's are top notch for a headset. If you aren't going to use the mic, get better sounding headphones. I don't have much experience with headphones, so I can't recommend any to you.

EDIT: If you get in from Amazon.com, the PC150's are under $50 with free shipping. I live in Indiana and it only took mine 3 days to get to me from when I first ordered.

Yeah, I don't know about the Mic. If those are still the best for that price range I might still get those.
The Sennheiser HD590's look really nice but I couldn't get those until summer

If you're probably not going to use the mic, don't bother with the PC150. Save up for a better set of Sennheiser headphones.

I have the 150 and it is great for fps games where you need to communicate with team members.

The problem is that with headphones, you really loose directional sensation because you do not have surrounds.

If you can stay with speakers do so. If you have to have headphones, these are great (but in no way compare to a good set of 5.1 speakers).

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-497s and they have awesome sound quality for the money (RRP $69 US) in games ... even with my old SB Live they give great directional cues.
