Every year taking more land? Hello! Israel has given given back the West Bank and Gaza in the hopes of appeasing the Palestenians and "World Opinion". What did that get them? More attacks, more missles fired at civilians, murders, kidnapped soldiers, and on and on.

The Palestenians have had ample opportunity to exist in peace with Israel but they take money donated and instead do things like this.. Arafat hoarded millions of dollars instead of using it to help Palestenians. The surrounding Arab nations use Israel as a crutch as to why everything is so wrong in their nation.

And do I really need to mention that they only reason that Israel had the West Bank and Gaza was because they captured those areas fending off assaults from their Arab neighbors?

newsflash: suburban usa has not evolved either.

That sounds more like something that would happen in ghetto USA. Did it really happen in the burbs or did you simply make that part up?
I remember this was a common occurrence back in the late 1980's with the <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://images.google.com/images?hs=1sz&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US<img src=---i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif--- border=---0--->fficial_s&q=starter%20jacket&btnG=Search&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sa=N&

Where did you come up with this jem? There are millions of Muslims living very happily here in the US, American citizens 100#, as much as me or you, none who think this. There might be a few hundred, tops, around the world now who think that, but they are far away with no weapons other than a few old AK-47s and no way to get here, except perhaps on American Airlines or United. No threat at all. That's just more Bush, CNN/Fox propraganda.

>>>Every year taking more land?

Ever hear of this wall they are building, all on Palestinian land? The one very much like The Warsaw Wall, built around the ghetto in Warsaw during WWll, . There will be no peace in the Middle East until Israel gives a fair settlement. One that will be very painful to the Israelis but well worth the ensuing peace. They can't hope that withdrawing from the West Bank will ever be enough to make up for all the lands they have taken.

In 100 years we're then goig to devise a tax system that is 10x less efficient and wrought with as much corruptions. But at least we get to be represented by the governemtn... until about 50 years ago. Equal representation is nothing more than a fairy tale in modern America :p

I'm not complaining about the state of affairs, but merely pointing out that the colonists really didn't have it that bad. They weren't terrorists, obviously, because they were fighting FOR their own people instead of AGAINST them. The modern terrorist will terrorize just about anyone, including the people they claim to protect.

It was really nothing like not wanting to pay taxes, its that the British were charging taxes out the ass on all of the products that the colonists were making, and then importing goods from England with no or reduced taxes. The governments set up by the British were headed by people who were friends of the king. People who did nothing in helping establish the colonies. The government would punish those who would try to sell goods that opposed the British imports by restricting who they could sell them to. It doesn't make sense for people to pay money to a government across the ocean to support the country across the ocean when they don't need their goods and aren't getting any freebies from them.

In order to have laws established, the British appointed Governor would have to approve it and a panel of colonists would have to approve it. It's not like our current system where one group can override or veto the other, because if the colonists wanted a law, the Governor would strongarm them into approving a law they didn't like or he would knock down the law, no matter how helpful or detrimental one or the other would be. The entire system was detrimental to the colonies because in order to make progress in the budding land they would have to give up some right or pay some new tax... and why should the Governor give a damn about the situation... he was already rich and could pretty much seize whatever he wanted because the military, which acted as the police, was under his control, and the colonists were not allowed to start their own military.

I do see what you are saying, but the flaws with tax systems now aren't to the caliber that they were... the biggest difference being the element of capitalism and the money not going to an entirely different country bent on surpressing the rights of people they are collecting from.

You mean like in the American war of independence?

Reminded me of the movie Cliffhanger:
Eric Qualen: Kill a few people, they call you a murderer. Kill a million and you're a conqueror.

Dave Mustaine: Kill em all.... you're a God!

UAE seems to be doing pretty good for themselves.

You'd think that with their location, countries in the middle east could do well in playing host to ships getting ready to travel from Eastern Asia, around Africa to Europe.

I guess I don't know much in that area, and I know a lot of the countries don't have oceanside land, but there's always a way to profit from that, such as making the goods that they need while the oceanside countries are focused on the harbors and such.

Again, I dunno. It's not easy to help a country that seems to not want to help themselves.
