Are the problems I'm having due to the Mobo?

Hi
Working on a friends computer and having a difficult time. Formated HD, cleaned everything up and still having the same problems.
Boots great into Windows but frequently either the keyboard or mouse won't work. Or everything freezes.
The mobo is a Soyo SY-3BA+III.
I have not upgraded the bios - didn't want to get to carried away til I elimanated the obvious first.

Check all the connections unplug/replug IDE cables, remove/reinsert memory, etc. .....was messing with a PackardBell last Wednesday turned out there was dust in the IDE cable as always YMMV
