Are the people you work with always grumpy?

Does anyone else have this problem at work? My boss and co-workers always seem to be in a grumpy mood. If I have to work late and get overtime my boss gets mad. But if the work doesn't get done he also gets mad. My co-workers seem to have no sense of humor except a couple of them, but its touch and go. I've only worked with the company for about three months. Do you think that has something do with it? My position has a high turnover rate, so maybe they aren't friendly towards me thinking that I won't be there long.

Any of you ever face the same thing?

I'm not looking to make friends at work. I've had jobs in the past where people were at least friendly towards each other. Where I work now it seems most people are just unhappy.

i work for my dad now, it sucks
last job i had, when i lived in kansas, i kinda liked. i worked with a religious nutcase regularly, but often enough i worked with people who were fun to be around, so *shrug* it wasnt too bad.

Whether the work is fun or not isn't the issue.

If you are not happy to be there then leave. I don't know how many times I told people that I'd be happy to help them get their stuff and carry it to their car and that I knew someone who would jump at the chance to do their job.

oh, so you're a contractor? If so that means you are just one step above the person that cleans the toilets.

Some are happy, some are indifferent...some suck ass. The best working people are the happy ones (not saying all happy people work best, just saying that the people I work with that are the best seem to always be happy).

The grumpy people tend to monitor other people and complain about their work habits when, in reality, they are working less than the people they are monitoring.

i'm mostly grumpy at work...especially when someone asks me how to do something that only they were trained in or have been doing for the past few days.


for instance, we got a new phone system at work. the receptionist uses her pc and a software console to answer the calls now. i haven't been trained on it no do i know much about it. she's been using it for the past week and 2 days. it wasn't working properly this morning and i'm asking her questions if he she did this or that or has to do this or that and she says she doesn't know! in my head,i'm just thinking, HOW THE FUCK DID YOU SURVIVE SO LONG??? how do you use somethign every day, all day long for over a week and you still don't know how to operate it?

I have a couple coworkers that suck at their job, and their mere presence makes me grumpy.

I'd imagine they think I'm always grumpy since I always am when they're around.
