Frankly, I'd like to know if anyone has had issue with OWC SSD drives. They also use SandForce Controllers, but don't use modified or "special sauce" firmware like OCZ does. And from what I've read tend to have better customer service than OCZ.

Sure they had issues! Many of the fixes for their drives were remedied right about the same time that 1.32/1.33 firmware was released. Hell.. they even made the switch to 25nm nand just as silently as OCZ did. Although, they actually rerated their drive sizes to represent the different IC configs to avoid the "shorted capacity" crap. Performance with those 25nm drives is NOT identical with incompressible data though yet their ratings stayed the same as well. Kinda' funny.. since they were so adamant about shaming OCZ. Can you say.. HYPOCRITES? lol

Hard to say how many issues though as they sell about 1 drive for every OCZ drive sold. Then the fact that they are extremely hushed about any issues is evidenced by the small blog of a tech forum that they operate from.

And OWC will not return drives for refund to disatisfied consumers like OCZ will if you talk to the right people. Although, I've purchased/returned drives with OWC before though and they do have the same small company feel that OCZ does when it gets seriously heated. With companies like that.. exceptions to the rule can be made.
