Are the new V3 drivers worth the download?

Well, actually I already downloaded them(v 1.07), but I already have v1.06 installed. Supposedly 1.07 provides DX8 support, but since I don't have DX8 installed at all, is there any major difference? Anyone tried the new drivers? Any cool stuff like the HSR feature for the V4/V5?

I have the 1.07's installed, and I saw about a 7 fps increase in q3a at 1024x768 hq. I also noticed that the polygon counts in 3dmark 2000 went up quite a bit. However, I do have dx8 installed so that might make a difference in 3dmark 2000.

Edit: the HSR is possible with the voodoo3, go here for instructions on how to set it up. It seems that HSR gives the voodoo3 quite a boost in performance as well. Remember to cap your fps if heavy flickering occurs.

Get them anyway. I have Direct X 7A and I saw a slight improvement in Quake 3 at 640 x 480. Other than that nothing's really changed, but it's always nice to have the latest drivers and Direct X 8 compatibility. :)

Right, I'll give it a try then. Thanks!

Edit: Should I install DX8 with it as well? I heard some nasty things about DX8. Anyway, it seems that the HSR applies only to the V5 v1.04 beta drivers. I was wondering if the reg hack/trick withs on the V3 with the V3 v1.07 WHQL drivers? I'm hesitant to run a V3 with V5 drivers.
