I'd say there's just as much difference between a Liquid Sharpie and a regular Sharpie as there is between a Liquid HiLiter and a regular HiLiter. Which is to say, none.

I have been using Sharpie markers for close to 15 years and I love them. I doubt there is much of a difference between the liquid and standard version.

As for writing there is no real difference. Being able to see that you are almost out of ink is a great feature though.
