I believe I saw one of those new Camaro on the streets. Actually I saw it late last year around middle of December. A quick google shows spring of 09 for release though.

a challenger maybe? that said i remember seeing one of the "new" mustangs in van nuys waaay before they came out. do you live in a "major" city?

Is that the car that they used in Transformers (Bumble bee I think)?

If so that is one of only a few American cars that I like in terms of the styling (in my limited knowledge of American cars).

The others were:
1964 Corvette (I saw a replica on American Hotrod; absolutely beautiful)
Corvette Stingray
Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Gone in 60 Seconds: Eleanor)

i think that was supposed to be a shelby gt 500 mustang, and arent a 64 vette and a stingray the same thing?

edit: i was clear that you had limited knowledge, not trying to talk shit

Nope. It had the distinct twin style taillights like the vettes. I'm in SoCal but at that moment I was driving in a rather small town.

Ok, I got the corvette models mixed up. I'll clarify:

C2 (1963?1967 Sting Ray)
C3 (1968?1982 shark)

With regard to the Mustang, it depends which version of the movie you are talking about: http://www.ritzsite.net/Shelby...by_Mustang_Gallery.htm

I've just had a look at the GT500 - another good looking car added to my list of cars that I would like to restore if I won the lottery

We are in SoCal. It's almost common to see pre-production models on the streets on a regular basis.
-edit-look for DIST or DLR on the license plate.

Yep, I saw a pre-prod Challenger on the 5fwy here.

Based on the widespread sitings, I'd venture a guess that they've purposely put some on the road to help build interest. AFAIK, it's a 2010 model that won't be available to the public until later this year.

There are several new Camaros out on the roads. Pre-pro cars. I would imagine it is for generating interest. I live in the wrong place because I've never seen any!
